I was excited to get my hands on the Bose Portable Smart Speaker, and it lived up to every expectation I had. This all in one speaker has the ability to be a portable Bluetooth speaker, a home speaker, and a voice control speaker with 360 degrees of deep, clear, lifelike sound and powerful bass.
The most impressive feature of this speaker is its portability. It weighs just over two pounds and has a handle that makes it easy to take outside the house or move from room to room around the house. It also has a durable design and a water resistant IPX4 rating so it can withstand drops, bumps, sprays, and splashes.
Outside of Wi Fi range, this speaker works as a portable Bluetooth speaker that can be controlled with any mobile phone or tablet device. Within Wi Fi range though, you can use it as an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant speaker to play integrated music services like Amazon Music and Spotify. With Alexa only you can make or take calls from this speaker to Bose smart products and Amazon Echo products with no need for hands free, phone free calling!
This Bluetooth speaker is part of the Bose Smart Home Family so you can pair it with other Bose smart speakers or sound bars for synchronized music playback using Bose SimpleSync technology. I found this feature particularly useful when I wanted my music playing throughout my entire home.
The design of the Bose Portable Smart Speaker is also noteworthy as it has taken home both a Red Dot and an iF Design award for its ability to act as both a portable and home speaker without sacrificing either experience. The battery life is 8.4 hours, the sound quality is 9.2/10, and the portability rating is 9.2/10 all impressive features that contribute to the award winning design of this product!
Overall I am very pleased with my purchase of the Bose Portable Smart Speaker! It has exceeded my expectations in terms of portability, sound quality, battery life, and design not to mention its voice control capabilities which make it incredibly convenient for me to control the music playing in my home without having to lift a finger!
