Product Overview
I recently had the pleasure of trying out Fascinations Metal Earth Premium Series USS Missouri BB 63 3D Metal Model Kit. Ive been an avid model builder for years, and this kit was a refreshing change of pace from the usual plastic models. This kit is made from laser etched metal sheets, with no glue or soldering necessary to assemble the pieces. The kit comes with tweezers which are recommended for bending and twisting the tabs that connect the pieces.
The difficulty level of this model is challenging, but not overwhelming. It took me about two hours to complete the build, and at the end I was left with a beautiful model of the USS Missouri that measured 12 inches long by 1.5 inches wide by 3.25 inches high. The detail on this model is amazing right down to tiny details like windows, vents, and ladders on the hull and it looks great as a display piece in my home office.
The instructions included with the kit are simple enough for anyone 14 or older to follow. Even if youre new to building models, you shouldnt have any trouble figuring it out. The fun part is watching as each piece pops out of its metal sheet and then connecting them all together with tabs and holes its like putting together a 3D puzzle!
This kit would make an excellent gift for someone who loves building models or who has an interest in maritime history.
