LeapFrog Scout and Violet 100 Words Book Review

I recently had the pleasure of trying out LeapFrog s Scout and Violet 100 Words Book. It is an interactive book that introduces more than 100 age appropriate words to children ages 18 months. It features categories such as pets, animals, food, mealtime, colors, activities, opposites and outside. When you touch the words on the pages, it plays words, sound effects and fun facts. The book also has bilingual capabilities in both English and Spanish so kids can learn both languages simultaneously.

In terms of design, the Scout and Violet 100 Words Book is made of durable plastic material so it won t easily break or tear even with rough use. It measures 9.4 inches wide by 9.4 inches high by 1.9 inches deep so it fits perfectly in a child s hands for easy handling. It only weighs 1.53 pounds making it light enough for kids to carry around wherever they want to go. The book also has a light up star button which plays the Learning Friends theme song and My Favorite Word when pressed.

The product was incredibly easy to set up and use as well as very intuitive for my toddler to operate without help from an adult. He was able to point out the words quickly on the pages while singing along with the song playing in the background. He was also able to understand the simple instructions given in either English or Spanish without any trouble at all. One thing I noticed is that he did not get easily bored with using this product which is a huge plus in my books!
