Product Overview
I recently had the pleasure of testing out the NooElec RTL SDR v5 Bundle NESDR Smart HF/VHF/UHF Software Defined Radio. This product is a USB radio receiver that can receive nearly all RF signals from 100 kHz to 1.75 GHz and up to 3.2 MHz of instantaneous bandwidth. It is compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and Android devices making it an ideal choice for those looking for a versatile software defined radio.
The setup process was very easy and straightforward. The package includes the NESDR SMArt RTL SDR v5, a magnetic antenna base with a 2m 6.5 RG 58 feed cable, and 3 different antenna masts for UHF and VHF operation, including a variable frequency telescopic antenna. Connecting the device to my computer was very simple and I was able to have it up and running in no time at all.
The device performed admirably during my tests. The signal reception was clear and crisp with no distortions or static in sight. This is thanks to the improved SNR that this device offers compared to other RTL SDRs on the market. I was able to receive broadcast AM radio, broadcast FM radio, shortwave radio, CB radio, public security radio, trunked radio, air traffic control signals, ACARS plane ground communications , ADS B plane tracking , AIS ship tracking , POCSAG pagers , NOAA and GOES weather satellites weather images , weather balloons, radiosondes, DAB radio, DVB T video, Inmarsat, Iridium and more without any problems whatsoever!

In terms of build quality and materials used in this product s construction are top notch as well with its sturdy plastic casing providing ample protection against wear and tear. All of these features make this product an excellent choice for anyone looking for an easy to use yet powerful software defined radio receiver at an affordable price point.
