I have recently had the pleasure of trying out the SABRENT USB External Stereo Sound Adapter, and I can honestly say it is a great product. This device is perfect for anyone who needs to connect their headphones, gaming consoles, laptops, or desktops to external audio sources.
The adapter comes in an attractive black color, with a USB Type A port and a stereo output jack on one end and a mono microphone input jack on the other end. It is driverless for Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8/Linux/Mac OSX and does not require any external power. It is also reverse compliant with USB Audio Device Class Specification 1.0, which means that you can use it to record audio for streaming, podcasting or gaming, as well as listening to music from your favorite device.
In terms of durability, this adapter is solid and sturdy and has held up well in my tests so far. The sound quality is good overall however, the volume control could be improved since it can be a bit tricky to adjust at times. As far as gaming goes, I found that this adapter did not perform as well as some of its competitors however, the noise level was acceptable in most cases.
