Tripp Lite SMART1500LCDXL Review

I recently had the pleasure of using Tripp Lites SMART1500LCDXL Uninterruptible Power Supply UPS for a server and desktop protection setup. This is a rack/tower UPS with an extended run time option that provides up to 12 minutes of half load run time or 4 minutes of full load run time. It comes with 8 outlets which can provide power backup and surge protection for small servers, desktops, monitors, LCDs, network workstations, audio/video components, media centers, keyboards, external hard drives, wireless routers and IoT devices.

The SMART1500LCDXL also offers an expandable run time option by providing external battery pack compatibility so that you can extend your runtime with the optional external battery pack. It also features Automatic Voltage Regulation AVR which corrects severe under voltages as low as 75 volts and over voltages as high as 147 volts without using any battery power. The USB serial ports enable data saving unattended shutdown when used with Tripp Lite s Power Alert Software which is available via free download.

In terms of durability, this UPS feels very solid and reliable. The LCD display is helpful in understanding the power status and shows how much battery life is left before it needs to be recharged. I also found the installation process to be quite easy it was simply a matter of plugging in the cables and powering on the unit.

In terms of customer support, I had no issues during my usage but I did contact their support team who were very helpful with my queries. They provided clear instructions on how to install and use the device along with tips on how to extend its lifespan.

All in all, I believe that the SMART1500LCDXL from Tripp Lite is an excellent choice for anyone looking for reliable UPS protection for their servers and desktops. It provides ample power backup and surge protection for all kinds of peripherals while also offering an expandable run time option with its external battery pack compatibility. Its AVR technology ensures that it can handle voltage fluctuations without draining your battery life while its USB serial ports enable data saving unattended shutdown when used with Tripp Lite s Power Alert Software.
