Yamaha MG10XU Review

I recently had the opportunity to test out the Yamaha MG10XU, a 10 channel mixer with USB and SPX digital effects. This mixer was an impressive piece of equipment and provided a professional sound quality and a wide range of features.

First of all, the sound quality was excellent. The MG10XU is equipped with studio grade discrete class A D PRE amps with inverted Darlington circuit, resulting in fat, natural sounding bass and smooth, soaring highs. Additionally, the 3 band EQ and high pass filters gave me maximum control over my mix and eliminated unwanted noise for a cleaner overall sound. I also appreciated the 1 knob compressors which allowed me to easily dial in livelier guitars, punchier bass lines, a tighter snare and a cleaner vocal sound for live performances.

The build quality was also impressive. The MG10XU has a rugged metal chassis that is impact resistant and powder coated for durability. It also has rubberized feet that help keep it from sliding around on surfaces when you re setting up or adjusting your mix. The dimensions are also relatively small, making it easy to transport from place to place if necessary.

The MG10XU is incredibly versatile as well it can be used in both live performance settings or for recording purposes in the studio. The 10 channels provide plenty of options for inputs, so you can easily hook up multiple instruments or microphones at once without having to use an external device like an audio interface. Additionally, the USB connection allows you to directly connect your mixer to your computer for easy recording or playback of digital audio files.

Overall, I think the Yamaha MG10XU is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a professional grade mixer with a wide range of features at an affordable price point. It s perfect for musicians who need something portable but powerful enough to handle any performance situation as well as those who are looking to record high quality audio in the studio environment.
